Leg the Spread: A Woman's Adventures Inside the Trillion Dollar Boys' Club of Commodities Trading

by Cari Lynn

Ever wonder what exactly it means when someone tells you that he clerks at The Merc? Dazed by locals at the Board of Trade? And just what do those silly hand signals in the pit mean? By clerking for 2 years at The Merc, author Cari Lynn learned what life is like at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade. Fishing for gossip at every turn, Lynn learns the truth about the exchanges, trading, and the lack of females in the pits.

Of course, this is a topic close to my heart. Can I ever learn enough to be interested in Sterling's tales of the markets? Maybe not. But this was a good beginning.

This book sounds really interesting- I always was curious about what it would be like to work at the Merc. I'll have to pick it up sometime.

Oh, and that Chris Crutcher book? Good for you for finishing it. I probably would have gotten fed up and thrown it across the room.

It was! Sometimes it helps to know what goes on at my boyfriend's place of employment. ;)

Oh, that Crutcher book--what a piece of garbage. And so deceptive in the review I read, as well as the blurb on the book's inside flap. Live and learn.
