Strapped: Why America's 20- and 30- Somethings Can't Get Ahead

by Tamara Draut

It's all the government's fault. That's why.

This woman has got to be kidding. Yes, it's true, she does outline why this nation's young adults cannot get ahead: staggering student loan debt, frightening credit card debt, the ridiculous cost of housing in major metropolitan areas, and the high price of having children. And who is to blame? The government. And that is what is wrong with this book. Not once does the author blame anyone but the government.

Dear Ms. Draut, there is something known as personal responsibility. You may want to attribute some of these problems to the decided lack of personal responsibility exercised by certain 20- and 30- somethings. But that's just my opinion.

237 pages of whining, but I am sure someone out there feels comforted and legitimized by this ridiculous book.
