(sequel to: Sorcery and Cecelia, or, The Enchanted Chocolate Pot)
Cousins Kate and Cecy are back and married! Of course, they honeymoon together (with their hubbies, Thomas and James) in Europe. A grand tour, indeed. While traveling, they encounter other magicians, lots of antiquities, communications via knitted fabrics, and even robbery and murder.
This is a long, long novel. School Library Journal describes it as a "sedate" pace, and I have to agree. I cannot imagine a child having the patience to finish this tome. I read it at my leisure and enjoyed the Jane Austen meets Harry Potter quality of the story. Really, I think I just craved a Regency novel.
My advice? Just read Sorcery and Cecelia and pretend that you don't know about The Grand Tour.
