Comfort Me with Apples: More Adventures at the Table

by Ruth Reichl

A follow-up to Tender at the Bone.

If Tender at the Bone was a coming of age story, Comfort Me with Apples is an adult story. Reichl, who thrills us with her bravado in the first memoir, disappoints us with her infidelity in her second memoir. Luckily, we can forgive her marital indiscretions, mostly because she still writes so well about food. I forgave her when I read about the failed adoption, which will break readers' hearts. All in all, an admirable sequel to her first memoir.

Looking forward to Garlic and Sapphires. . .
