If you enjoyed One Good Turn, you’ll be pleased with Kate Atkinson’s latest. It features the same plot device of introducing several seemingly unrelated characters whose stories eventually converge.
Featured characters include:
Jackson Brodie, former private investigator and character in Case Histories and One Good Turn
Dr. Joanna Hunter, survivor of an attack on her family when she was a child
Reggie Chase, orphan and mother’s helper for Dr. Hunter
Detective Chief Inspector Louise Monroe, currently working on a case similar to Hunter’s (and becoming obsessed with said case)
A train wreck, a killer released from jail, and another killer on the loose will bring these characters together in interesting and not always obvious ways.
Though it starts out slowly, this is a novel worth reading. Once the action picks up, it’s hard to put down this book!

I have kept a reading journal since 2000. Feeling a little modern, I am now going to keep an online record of my literary conquests. After each book, I'll post a summary and comments. Maybe you'll decide to read one of them. And maybe you won't.
