I did not enjoy The Book of Scandal. Here's why:
1. The title has nothing to do with the main plot of the novel.
2. The blurb on the back of the book has nothing to do with the main plot of the novel.
3. The main plot of the novel is a silly, melodramatic tale of estranged parents who lost a child. Since when is this the plot of a sexy historical romance?
Anyway, Nathan Grey, the Earl of Lindsey, is estranged from his wife, Evelyn. Their marriage hit the skids when their young son, Robbie, died. For the past three years, Evelyn has been living at court, while Nathan continues to reside in the country.
Gossip, or the threat of gossip, brings the two back together. With rumblings in the royal family, and the threat of Evelyn's name being published in The Book of Scandal, Nathan whisks her back home. Of course, they fall in love again.
Ugh. A whole lot of whining from Evelyn about her dead son. Really unromantic, if you ask me.
