Sequel to The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl
Generally speaking, I do not read series of books out of order. But sometimes, especially when I get a freebie from ALA, I break this rule. I wish I hadn’t.
Whiny Goth Girl a.k.a. Kyra Sellers has just been released from the mental hospital. The diagnosis: DCHH (Daddy Couldn’t Handle Her). After being away for 6 months, her return to high school is less than triumphant. Her friends seem different. Jecca’s totally into some guy named Brad, and Fanboy is suddenly popular. What’s going on?
All of Kyra’s confusion only adds to her already out of control anger problem. So, what is exactly is eating this troubled teen? Kyra still hasn’t resolved her issues concerning her mother’s death. And until she does, she’ll be trouble.
Even though this was a quick and easy read, I really found it to be annoying at the same time. I wanted to shake Kyra and yell, “Get over it!”
If only I had read the first book. . .
