Along for the Ride

by Sarah Dessen

Auden’s parents are divorced, and her father and his new wife, Heidi, just had a baby. Though she’s not crazy about Heidi, Auden’s had enough of her super-intellectual professor mother. She decides to spend her last summer before college with her father and his new family.

What follows is Auden’s discovery that she has missed out on so much: boyfriends, girlfriends, having fun, hanging out, etc. She never even learned how to ride a bike!

And it’s all her parents’ fault. Yes, that’s right: it’s more ridiculous teen melodrama from Ms. Dessen. What complete and utter crap!

There’s nothing vaguely realistic in this novel for teens. Skip it.
