by David Ellis
This novel fits into the “then and now” genre of fiction.
Then: Sammy Cutler’s baby sister is abducted from the home during the summer of 1980.
Now: It is now 2007, and Sammy Cutler has been arrested for the murder of Griffin Perlini, the man suspected of (but never charged for) the abduction of Audrey Cutler.
Then: Jason Kolarich is Sammy’s next door neighbor and best friend when they are kids.
Now: Jason is now an attorney, and he has just been hired to defend Sammy.
But nothing is as simple as it seems to be. Sammy’s defense, the truth about Audrey, and Jason’s own problems will all serve to muddle the case.
A great legal/suspense novel.
