Star Island

by Carl Hiaasen

Dark comedy. Florida. Crime. Hiaasen’s latest novel has it all.

Our story centers on 22-year-old Cherry Pye, a talentless pop star with a penchant for pills and booze. She is such a disaster that her parents have hired a double for Cherry. So, when the wasted pop star is a little too wasted, her double can still be seen out on the town.

When Ann, the double, is kidnapped by mistake, a series of humorous and unfortunate events follow. Add some unique and deranged criminals, and you’ve got pure Hiaasen gold.

Very, very entertaining.
