Cassia is on the brink of being Matched. When she turns seventeen, Society will reveal her Match to her (and vice versa). Two strange things happen at the Match Banquet:

1. Cassia is Matched with her best friend, Xander. It is highly unusual for one to know his/her Match.

2. After the Match Banquet, a “glitch” occurs, and another young man (not Xander) appears on Cassia’s Matching screen.

With that, our story begins. . .

Who is Cassia’s true Match? What happened to cause the so-called glitch? Is it possible to fall in love with someone who is not your Match?

Questions of love, loyalty, and obedience will plague Cassia as she matures and learns more about the society in which she lives.

I found this novel to be incredibly engrossing. The characters are real, and the world in which they live is fascinating. Condie has created an intriguing dystopia and unforgettable characters.
