The London Eye Mystery

by Siobhan Dowd

Ted and Kat’s cousin, Salim, has come to visit London before heading to New York with his mum. The cousins are eager to do something touristy, and they decide upon a ride on the London Eye.

When Salim boards the Eye, but never exits the ride, a mystery is born. It is up to Ted and his clever autistic mind to solve the mystery.

In terms of a mystery for children, I think this is good. Ted is a likable and intelligent sleuth. I also like the autistic twist to his narration; Ted is so literal about absolutely everything.
