James Sparrow hates Christmas. Period. His wife loves it. As the snow falls on Minneapolis, James rails against the Little Drummer Boy, and his wife battles nausea, still longing to attend all of her favorite holiday-themed musical and theatrical productions.
When a phone call sends James flying off to his hometown of Looseleaf, North Dakota, everything changes for him. While visiting his favorite uncle, who is now dying, James becomes trapped in a blizzard. Wacky relatives, a night alone in an ice house, and a bit of Dickensian magic help James to overcome his fear and loathing of the holiday season.
