Well, the title of this novel pretty much says it all. Betsy’s downtown adventures include:
• Seeing a “horseless carriage” for the first time,
• Visiting Deep Valley’s new public library,
• Attending a theatrical production of Uncle Tom’s Cabin, and
• Befriending the owner of the Melborn Hotel.
This, the fourth entry in the series, is just as happy and wholesome as the previous three novels.
