The Minotaur

by Barbara Vine

Young nurse Kerstin Kvist has little idea of what to expect of her new job in England. She is hired to care for John Cosway of Lydstep Old Hall.

John has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and heavily drugged. Immediately, Kerstin disapproves of his treatment. But this treatment is considered to be protection for his family members. John is a grown man, and his mother and sisters cannot handle him.

The creepy Cosways (Julia, Ella, Ida, Winifred, and Zorah), their dusty home, and the sinister Doctor Lombard all work together to create a truly Gothic atmosphere for this novel. Kerstin, the reliable Swede narrator, guides us through a tale of madness, greed, and family ties.

Great!
