The Man on the Balcony

Martin Beck returns and is faced with two sets of crimes: muggings and the molestation and murders of little girls. Initially, the police believe that the crimes are related, as they both take place in public parks. This, of course, is incorrect.

While the mugger is soon apprehended, the “sex maniac” remains on the

loose. Residents of Stockholm are scared, and the police are eager to catch the predator.

Once again, Beck saves the day with his straightforward and focused detecting.

I have to admit that the writing style used in this novel reminds me of Dragnet, if you know what I mean.
