Redwall

Though I have seen these books at the library many times, I had no idea what the series was about.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that Redwall is an abbey, and the main character is a young mouse named Matthias. Matthias is an unlikely hero with his floppy sandals and oversized novice’s habit.

But Matthias will be a hero. His chance to shine comes when Cluny the Scourge (!) decides to attack Redwall. Matthias must work together with his woodland friends to foil the attempts by the frightening one-eyed rodent and his army.

This is a cute story, but WAY TOO WORDY for juvenile readers. It is too wordy for me to ever consider reading the next entry in the series.
