Tom Clancy’s first novel, The Hunt for Red October, is simply that: a hunt for a Russian submarine (named Red October).
A thin plot, stock characters, and loads & loads of dry jargon make for a disappointing and slow read. I honestly do not know who would like this novel or why they might like it. In a word: boring.
