Send in the Idiots: Stories from the Other Side of Autism

by Kamran Nazeer

Nazeer was diagnosed as autistic as a child and attended a special school in New York. Twenty years later, he decides to reconnect with 4 of his classmates. On different points of the spectrum, Randall, Craig, Elizabeth, and Andre each have their own interesting and touching stories. And if you thought that individuals with autism could not go to college and succeed in the world, you will be amazed.

If anything, this is an account of autism that is hopeful. Not every autistic child goes to college, becomes a speechwriter, and lives on his own. But some do. And that makes this book worth reading.
