The Keep

by Jennifer Egan

Cousins Danny and Howard share a traumatic past. A past that neither can forget. When Howard acquires a castle in Europe and invites Danny to help restore it, Danny is faced with the past he so desperately would like to forget. But how can he say no to Howard, his wildly successful cousin who beat the odds?

Danny travels to Europe and arrives at the castle and immediately regrets his decision. And thus begins a creepy, pseudo-gothic tale of regret, revenge, and madness.

To reveal anything else would spoil the novel.

It’s not the greatest thing I’ve read lately, but it did keep my attention.
