by Sara Gruen
93-year-old Jacob Jankowski is trapped with a bunch of old people. He doesn’t belong in the home; he still has his mind, he can still walk (with the assistance of a walker), and he still has his own teeth (and would love to eat real food). So, Jacob’s a little cranky.
When the circus comes to town, and a fellow resident claims to have worked for a circus at one time, Jacob challenges his story. He doesn’t believe him and becomes angry and belligerent. Why? Because for part of his life, Jacob worked for the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. He knows circus life.
And our story begins. . .
From his accidental beginnings to a circus stampede, we learn of Jacob’s circus adventures.
That’s all I’m telling you. I don’t want to spoil it for you. Read this fabulous novel and enjoy!
