What is a "starter wife?" Well, it's not the wife you stay married to forever, at least not in Hollywood. Nobody wants to be a starter wife, and nobody thinks that she is a starter wife. For example, Gracie Pollock is dazed and confused when her husband dumps her via cell phone just short of their 10-year anniversary.
What's a gal to do? After all, she's been a "wife of" for so long that she' s lost her sense of independence (as well as her means of independence). She packs up and moves to her pal's Malibu place for the summer. Does she try to get her life together? Not really. But she meets another man. A sexy man who finds her still attractive. A man who wants to kiss her and make love to her and not make ridiculous demands of her.
