Notting Hell

by Rachel Johnson

Which is worse: living in Notting Hill, but not really fitting in OR reading an absolutely insipid novel about the adultery and snobbery in Notting Hill? This brash American thinks it is the latter.

The author concerns herself more with name-dropping than with plot and characterization, which leads to a pretty thin and ridiculous plot, as well as characters that are not really distinct. In fact, it is easy to confuse the two narrators, Mimi and Clare, because their voices are indistinguishable: whiny and annoying.

Don't waste your time.
