Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict

by Laurie Viera Rigler

I cannot imagine a world in which one can read Jane Austen only once.

In the throes of a broken engagement and too much alcohol, Courtney Stone wakes up and discovers that she's no longer in LA. In fact, she's in Jane Austen's England. Her name is Jane Mansfield (ha!), and she's recovering from a horseback riding accident.

Confused? So is Courtney/Jane. Courtney is a modern woman trapped in the body of a woman in Regency England. Not so bad for a woman addicted to the novels of Jane Austen, is it? Courtney struggles with her situation initially, learning that life for Austen's contemporaries was not so ideal. But she settles in and even engages in a little romance.

This is a cute novel. It's not serious, and it doesn't pretend to be. Take it for what it is: a frothy little fantasy. I loved it!
