Jane and Michael Stern like to eat and enjoy writing about it. Authors of Roadfood and contributing editors to Gourmet, the Sterns are obsessed with the concept of road food. They've driven all around the United States and tasted all kinds of regional specialties from jonnycakes to Indian pudding and Italian beef to country ham.
While they do love to eat, I wouldn't consider them to be great food writers. I'd much rather read something from Ruth Reichl or Jeffrey Steingarten. Maybe I'm just a snob.
