by Joanna Trollope
This is a mediocre tale of a bunch of women who get together on Friday nights. Clever, huh?
Eleanor is the glue, the old sage who starts the group. In fact, the group begins as Eleanor's attempt to bring two single mothers (Paula and Lindsay) in her neighborhood together. She is successful, and the group attracts others. Lindsay's irresponsible little sis, Jules, sometimes shows up for Friday Nights. Two business partners, Blaise and Karen, comprise the rest of the group.
Each woman has her own story and her own issues. New drama will ensue when new men enter their lives.
Not good. Trollope can do better.
