I just love anything by Elinor Lipman, don't you?
Her latest offering features Henry Archer, a retired lawyer and his former family. They include: Denise, his ex-wife, and Thalia, his long lost stepdaughter. He has regrets about the divorce from Denise, mainly about losing touch with her daughter.
When Denise is widowed, Henry reconnects with her. Even though he is gay, there is still a strong relationship between the two of them. He also unexpectedly reconnects with Thalia. Their bond is also amazing.
All of a sudden, Henry is the family man that he always wanted to be. Light, fresh, and funny. Absolutely delightful.
