Billing itself as "A novel of the Plague," Year of Wonders is just that. A year in the life of an English village that has been struck by the plague. 1666, to be exact. The villagers make a daring decision--to quarantine the village itself. For one year, we will experience the villagers as they struggle to survive in such isolation, as well as avoid being the next victim of the plague.
Sadly, about 2/3 of the village will die that year, and only the truly strong will survive. One of those is Anna Frith, who is the narrator of our story. She will lose her husband and her children and will survive, thrive, and eventually find a completely new life. This is her story, complete with an utterly ridiculous ending!
