Broken for You

by Stephanie Kallos

Margaret lives alone in her Seattle mansion. Well, that's not totally true--she is surrounded by her large collection of valuable antiques. She is lonely, and she has, essentially, stopped living. Until she finds out that she has a brain tumor.

Her sudden illness prompts her to start living and even take in a boarder. Enter Wanda Schultz, a damaged young woman. By night, Wanda works in the theatre. By day, Wanda is trying to track down her ex.

These two women and their damaged personal histories come together for more than just healing. They change each other. They change the world.

Quirky characters, intricate plotting, and a truly wonderful story make Broken for You one of my favorite novels. It is just as good as the author's second novel, Sing Them Home.
