Extremely atmospheric tale of two cousins, Bonnie and Sylvia. When Bonnie’s parents need to leave the country for health reasons, they summon Bonnie’s cousin (for companionship) and another distant relative, Miss Slighcarp, to serve as the girls’ governess.
Things take a turn for the worse when our stern governess is not who she appears to be!
Heavily, heavily influenced by Charlotte Brontë (Jane Eyre). Very dark at the beginning and sort of ridiculous at the end, but still a lot of fun.
