by Hilary Mantel
This is an extremely dry and excessively wordy novel about Thomas Cromwell, advisor to Henry VIII. Along the way, you’ll meet Cardinal Wolsey, Thomas More, and the Boleyn sisters. You’ll spend a lot of time observing Henry VIII’s attempt to deny his first wife and marry Anne Boleyn.
Now, I love this period in history, but I HATE this book. Instead of reading like a prize-winning novel, it reads like a history book. A very boring history book.
Very disappointing.
