Time: the future
Place: all over the world
In this future, bees no longer exist (just think of the implications of life without pollination). In a small span of time, 5 young people are stung by bees. Harj, Zack, Samantha, Julien, and Diana hail from places all over the world, and on the surface, they appear to have nothing in common.
But the bee stings bring them together. The majority of the novel focuses on what happens when the five are brought together.
Weird.
