Dark of the Moon

by John Sandford

Meet Virgil Flowers, thrice divorced stud working for the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Think Lucas Davenport in rural MN.

Flowers has been called to Bluestem to solve a murder, and once he is there, there are more murders to solve. Bluestem is a small town, so everyone is entangled with each other, and secrets aren’t easily kept. A giant meth lab, an inheritance for several heirs, and a little romance all serve to cloud the mind of Flowers and hinder his investigation.

Two questions: can he find the killer? If so, can he stop him from killing again? Well paced, but it feels like the Prey series all over again. Total déjà vu.
