Genevieve Welsh is an average American teenager. She plays soccer, hangs with her gal pals, and is addicted to technology. The year’s summer vacation at Camp Frontier will change her outlook forever.
The Welsh family will go back in time to 1890 and live as the folks on the frontier lived. With disastrous results, of course. Armed with her contraband cell phone, Gen will text her friends, and her friends will create a blog to record Gen’s experiences.
If you’ve seen Frontier House on PBS, you will already know the plot of this novel. I wanted to like it, but I was continually disappointed.
Good idea, poor execution. Instead, watch Frontier House. It is awesome.
