Welcome to Brooklyn Heights, a swanky neighborhood for lots of wealthy, young families. Everyone knows each other, and everyone loves living in the neighborhood, except for Tim and Kate Welch.
Crammed into a tiny apartment with two boys, everything, including their marriage, is suffocating the couple. Tim hasn’t finished his dissertation, Kate isn’t finding satisfaction in being a stay-at-home mom, and the people with whom they surround themselves are stupidly rich and privileged.
All of this changes with a new addition to the neighborhood: Anna Brody. To Kate, she is a much needed new friend. To Tim, she is a new fantasy. For both of them, she is trouble.
Told by alternating points of view, this is a well-paced novel full of humor, disappointment, and the dilemma of infidelity.
