Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

by Jonathan Safran Foer

September 11 rocked the world of Oskar Schell. On that day, his father was a casualty of the terrorist attacks, and his body was never recovered.

All Oskar has left of his father is a telephone answering machine with his father's messages and a mysterious key. Oskar has one clue about the key: Black. He has now made it his mission to find the lock to which the key belongs.

Oskar will take reads on a journey through New York and a journey through pain and survival.

Kind of gimmicky. And the mystery of the key turns out to be rather disappointing.
