First and foremost, this is not a holiday mystery. Do not be fooled by the title, the cover illustration, or the name of the main character, Father Tom Christmas. This is a cozy mystery that takes place in a small English village, and the vicar is our sleuth.
When 19-year-old Sybella Parry’s body is found dead and stuffed in a Japanese drum, it is up to Tom Christmas to find the culprit. But the more he learns, the more complicated the case becomes. Another dead body surfaces, and village secrets are being revealed at a record pace.
This mystery is overly long and has way too many characters. Fortunately, Tom Christmas is a very likable sleuth.
