Friday's Child

by Georgette Heyer

Lord Sherington AKA Sherry wishes to marry Miss Milborne AKA the Incomparable. Of course, she refuses him. He’s just not good enough for her.

Frustrated by her rejection and desirous of access to his fortune, Sherry does the unthinkable: he marries a woman he doesn’t love. But this does not signify. After all, Sherry has known Miss Hero Wantage for a very long time. Hero’s only faults lie in circumstances beyond her control: she has no money, and she has no social graces and/or experience with the ton.

So, Sherry receives his fortune upon marriage, but is faced with a problem: Hero. Poor Hero AKA Kitten has no sense of propriety. She constantly missteps, getting herself into terrible scrapes.

Can Sherry tame his wild wife? Can the two find true love with each other? And, most importantly, who will win the hand of the Incomparable?

All will be revealed in good time, dear Reader.

I enjoyed the basic plot of this novel, but feel that the novel is excessively wordy. I spent too much time feeling that this novel was too much work to read.
