The battle for power in Westeros continues in this third novel of Martin’s series. Joffrey now sits on the Iron Throne, and several rivals seek to un-throne the young and brutal king.
Young Robb Stark rules the North with big dreams. Bitter Lord Stannis plots his next move and continues to consult the sorceress Melisandre. And, of course, Daenerys Stormborn continues to raise her dragons and conquer.
Two very memorable weddings and a whole lot of action in the last hundred or so pages make an otherwise slow read quite exciting. Hang in there readers: it’s worth the work.
