The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry

by Rachel Joyce

When retiree Harold Fry learns that an old friend is dying, he decides to visit her one last time. Oh, and he makes this decision on the spur of the moment. And he also decides that he will walk the 600+ miles to see her.

For a man without a purpose, such a trip to see Queenie Hennessy is, indeed, an unlikely pilgrimage.

Along the way, Harold confronts his own demons. At home, Harold’s wife, Maureen, does the same.

It is a long journey for Harold, but it is a most satisfying and worthwhile one for the reader. The payoff is amazing.
