Tell the Wolves I'm Home

by Carol Rifka Brunt

The year is 1987. Fourteen-year-old June Elbus is a loner. Her best friend is her uncle, Finn. When Finn dies of AIDS, June is bereft. No one in her family seems to understand her loss.

But there is one person who understands June’s pain: Toby. Toby was Finn’s partner and is a man whom neither June nor her sister ever met. After Finn dies, Toby approaches June. He wants to meet her.

After secretly meeting Toby, a whole world opens up for June. She learns more about Finn and Toby and herself.

Words cannot express how much I love this novel. I love dreamy June. She is sweet and innocent and very, very loving.
