Stupid and Contagious

by Caprice Crane

You may be asking yourself, "Why is she reading a book whose title comes from lyrics by Nirvana?" Well, dear reader, I didn't know that "stupid and contagious" is from that grunge anthem, Smells Like Teen Spirit. And I don't care. I still loved this novel.

This is the story of Heaven and Brady, two neighbors who instantly loathe each other, but will eventually love each other. Brady has a record company, Sleestak Records (from Land of the Lost). Brady's true calling is inventing, as he has several new products in process. Heaven is fired from her PR job and winds up waitressing in a trendy restaurant. The two come together when they fly to LA to listen to a band and then fly to Seattle to pitch an idea to the president of Starbucks. Love and hilarity ensue.

This novel is packed with fun pop culture references and insanely funny moments, which I cannot even begin to describe. This is a great read for someone who needs to relax and laugh. Fun to read on the el.

Recommended by the fabulous Ms. Cheryl Gladfelter.

Wise move, Heidi! This book is great. And it's written in he said/she said form, which is also entertaining.
