Jodi Picoult tackles autism! Seriously!
Jacob is the 18-year-old with Asperger’s, Theo is his younger brother, and Emma is Jacob’s tireless advocate and mother. When Jacob is accused of murdering his tutor, Jess, it’s up to Emma and an inexperienced lawyer to save the day.
And did I mention that Jacob is obsessed with forensics? Because he is. Of course, this also plays into the murder investigation.
Picoult is really heavy-handed with the Asperger’s material and less focused on decent plotting and character development.
Not her best work.
