The Deception of the Emerald Ring

by Lauren Willig

In her previous outing, Eloise Kelly discovered the identity of the Black Tulip, or so she thought. In this adventure, the Black Tulip has escaped custody and is now in Ireland. Geoffrey Pinchingdale-Snipe and his new bride, Letty Alsworthy, pursue the Black Tulip and learn a little bit more about his/her operation and identity.

There are two distinct stories presented in this novel:

• Geoffrey and Letty’s unusual marriage and budding romance and
• The pursuit of the Black Tulip, whoever he/she may be.

The romance is not as good as that of Miles and Hen in the previous novel, and the intrigue isn’t quite up to snuff either. Still, it is an entertaining diversion for someone who is already dedicated to the Pink Carnation series.
