In this fourth and final novel of The Giver quartet, we revisit Jonas and the community in which he used to live.

We meet Claire, who failed as a birth mother in that community. We also meet Claire’s one and only child, Gabe.

Yes! Gabe! We now learn the story of Gabe from someone else’s point of view. We also learn what has become of him since Jonas kidnapped him.

Of course, Gabe has a gift. Of course, Claire wants to find Gabe and vice versa. Of course, the other characters from preceding novels are revisited.

I really enjoyed how Lois Lowry tied all four novels together. This is a worthy conclusion to an unforgettable quartet of novels.
